The Department of Primary Care coordinates primary healthcare services, promotes guidelines, and collaborates with prevention districts and child neuropsychiatry services.
The Primary Care Department, part of the ASST regional center, coordinates primary healthcare in close collaboration with district facilities, prevention services, and child neuropsychiatry. It develops guidelines, manages agreements with general practitioners, pediatricians, and outpatient physicians, and organizes home and outpatient services.
It interacts with the Primary Care, Child Neuropsychiatry, Vaccinations and Infectious Disease Surveillance, Coordination of Consultations, Disability and Chronic Diseases departments, and with the Districts. Primary care represents the system of care closest to people's place of residence—physicians' offices, homes, clinics, counseling centers, and residential facilities—and is the primary form of ongoing care, the basis for all specialized and hospital care.
